Aged Care Events Melbourne: Hollywood Comes to Melbourne

on Tuesday, November 19, 2013

This Friday seniors will flock to the Melbourne CBD for the fifth annual StarFISH extravaganza and the United Nation’s International Day of Older Persons.

300 of Melbourne’s elderly residents will converge to Melbourne Park and take part in this year’s theme Hooray for Hollywood with a focus on music, dance, culture and the old Hollywood musicals.

The STARfish Extravaganza coincides with the start of the Seniors Festival in Victoria.

Residents from Melbourne residential aged care provider Blue Cross Community and Residential Services have prepared costumes, singing and dancing routines for awards on the day.

The prepared song and dances are part of a stimulation and memory assistance program. The event will be attended by the Honourable David Davis, Minister for Health and Ageing and Melbourne’s Deputy Lord Mayor the Honourable Susan Riley.

The event will run at the Melbourne Park Function Centre from 12pm until 3pm.
