Uniting to Reach More Seniors

on Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Uniting has announced that they will soon be providing aged day services to approximately 150 new clients in the Nepean Blue Mountains area. The services are currently being delivered by Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD), and the transfer will take place in late March 2017.

Uniting has a strong record of providing high quality day services to seniors in their 50 existing day centres across NSW and ACT, through their award winning Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors programs. Uniting's dedicated staff also provide the tailored home and community care clients need to live in their own homes.

“We look forward to working with our new clients and discussing how we can best meet their needs and give them the support they choose,” said Uniting Head of Home and Community Care Operations Jacki Attridge.

“Uniting is honoured to have been selected by the Commonwealth Department of Health to take on delivery of social support services in this area,” said Ms Attridge.

Aged Day Service clients who currently attend Springwood Community Health Centre, St Clair Community Health Centre, Peppercorn Place at Windsor or Mondeval at Leura will transition to Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors programs at Windsor, Katoomba and Emu Plains.

Uniting staff will be meeting with clients to discuss their needs and preferences regarding their services as soon as possible.

“We are committed to working together with Local Health District to minimise disruption to services for clients and their carers during this transition,” said Ms Attridge.

Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors social support groups offer activities and get-togethers with the aim of helping people have some fun while boosting their wellbeing and independence.
