IRT's Board Welcomes Two New Directors

Aged care industry expert, Patrick Reid and respected Illawarra businessman, Peter Fitzgerald were today appointed as Directors of national seniors Lifestyle & Care provider, IRT Group. 

IRT Chairman, Mike Halloran said he is extremely pleased to have experienced Directors of the calibre of Mr Reid and Mr Fitzgerald join the IRT Board.

"The IRT Board is committed to diversifying our skills and equipping ourselves for the future," he said.
"We intend to continue the legacy that has enabled this community-owned organisation to flourish for almost 50 years.

"To do this in the face of changing customer expectations, increased competition and new technology will require our Board to epitomise the IRT culture of customer centricity and innovation.
"Together with our current Directors, Patrick and Peter will help to guide the organisation to continued prosperity so we can keep improving the lives of older Australians," he said.

Patrick Reid

As the immediate past CEO of Leading Age Services Australia (the federal peak body for aged care and seniors housing), Patrick Reid has an intimate knowledge of the aged care sector. He was a long-term member of the Australian Government’s Aged Care Sector Committee and Chairman of the Government's Aged Care Workforce Advisory Group. He is currently a member of the ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing. Patrick is a pharmacist and Partner of the Capital Chemist Group and has held senior board roles with the Pharmacy Guild and Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.

Peter Fitzgerald

Peter Fitzgerald is an extremely accomplished Illawarra businessperson. He was the Managing Partner of KPMG Wollongong for over 20 years, working with many of the largest organisations in the region. He has a strong focus on strategic risk management and a close knowledge of IRT and its businesses. Peter is currently a Director of Peoplecare Health Insurance Fund, a Member of the Council of the University of Wollongong and Chair of the University Council’s Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
