The newest residents at Mercy Place Lathlain have four paws and cute little twitching noses.
And that’s because when rabbits Harlow, Spotty and Beano found themselves homeless, the not-for-profit aged care home volunteered to take them in.
Mercy Place Lathlain Service Manager, Surabh Nair, says the rabbits have become much-loved residents at the aged care home and have had a positive impact on seniors’ wellbeing.
“Most homes have a pet and we’re really focused on creating a warm and inviting environment at Mercy Place Lathlain, so the rabbits are a welcome addition,” Mr Nair said.
“Pretty much all of the residents love them and find them very relaxing to be around. It’s wonderful to see how much enjoyment they get by stroking the rabbits, they’re definitely a very calming influence.”
