Benetas Announced As Finalist in Two Categories for Marketing Excellence Awards

on Friday, August 21, 2020

Not-for-Profit aged care provider, Benetas, was announced this week as a finalist in two categories of Australia’s most established marketing awards for both Insight Driven Marketing and Future Leader of Year.

The Australian Marketing Institute’s AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence attract 100s of award entries from Australian businesses each year across 18 categories. Since 1982, the awards program has become Australia’s most trusted source of recognising extraordinary marketing initiatives across the country.

Benetas was selected as Victorian Finalist in the Insight Driven Marketing category for its evidence based Positive Ageing Tool (PAT). In addition Benetas’ Marketing Segment Advisor, Sarah McDonald, was announced as Victorian finalist for the Future Leader of the Year.

Benetas’ Positive Ageing Tool (PAT), is a much-needed online resource for older Australians to selfscreen their physical resilience, and take the steps they need to stay independent for longer. The online self-screening tool was developed on the back of government funded research that Benetas undertook with Monash University in 2018.

Since then the Benetas marketing team has worked with digital agency Inlight to adapt the screening tool into a simple and user-friendly online resource for use by older Australians and health professionals, which positions Benetas as an authority early on in the ageing journey.

Using sophisticated digital analytics to target older Australians before they show signs of frailty, this resource now means that older Australians are in a far better position to detect and address early signs of frailty before a serious health decline occurs. Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said the work to develop and tailor the resource to consumers was extensive.

“Incredible work has gone into ensure this tool has maximum impact in the community, and is reaching the right audiences who need it most. It’s wonderful to see this contribution recognised,” she said.

“Within a matter of months, this resource has enabled thousands of older people to take a personalised questionnaire and download a tailored report to support them to stay healthy and independent for longer.” Ms Hills added how important effective online health promotion and digital solutions are for older Australians in our community, now more than ever.

Ms Hills also acknowledged the news of Benetas marketing team member, Sarah McDonald, as finalist in the AMI’s Future Leader of the Year category.

“We’re incredibly proud of Segment Marketing Advisor, Sarah McDonald, for her achievement. She has been with Benetas for two years and has a comprehensive knowledge of digital systems and targeted, analytic approaches to reach our audiences and achieve strong marketing objectives.”

Ms Hills said Sarah’s achievements come from years of marketing practice, of using test and learn methodology and having a confidence and resilience that enabled her to grow.

“Sarah was notably part of the Benetas team who won the National AMI Data Led Marketing Strategy award last year. We are incredibly proud of Sarah and of the entire marketing team for the significant work they continue to achieve at Benetas for our community.”
