Regis Colour Festival Celebrates Life and Friendship

on Wednesday, February 3, 2021

Few aged care residences would ever find themselves purchasing 10kg of colour powder and 80 white t-shirts, but at Regis it was just what was needed for a unique and memorable day full of fun and vibrancy.

Thinking outside the box, the lifestyle team decided to hold a colour festival recently to lift spirits and celebrate life and friendship. After an exciting wait in the morning, the team counted down from 10 at midday and showered the residents and staff with multi-coloured powder to the tune of ‘Baby Elephant Walk’ by Henry Mancini.

With face painting, art work, and the painting of each other’s t-shirts, this energetic day sparked laughter and creativity amongst residents and staff. The afternoon was filled with chatter about what a wonderful day had been experienced by all, with a number of residents commenting that they had always wanted to have their faces painted.

In many ways the colour festival was a meaningful reflection of the lifestyle programs at Regis in general. At Regis, every resident is valued as an individual and surrounded with the things that make them smile, and variety and enjoyment is considered a key priority in daily life. With an aim to help residents embrace their interests and remain connected with their favourite things and loved ones, Regis enhances enhance day-to-day wellbeing and provides the best possible care.
