Welcome

The Cairns Aged Care Centre at Chapel Hill is a contemporary home, located in the leafy suburb of Chapel Hill in Brisbane, QLD. Offering the best of urban life with the charms of nature, we are lucky enough to have the Mt Coot-tha Forest surrounding us with views of green hillsides and mountains, nearby access to public transport and local services and are just 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.

Designed in consultation with industry experts and peers, we have incorporated the most up to do date principles of modern aged care. We have spacious and bright communal areas and rooms, wide corridors and modern facilities, whilst still having homely interiors that offer a warm, inviting community atmosphere. Outside, we have beautiful landscaped gardens and our own pond. With an active lifestyle program and a variety of quality amenities, our committed staff work hard to create a sense of belonging and opportunities for our residents to live their best life while receiving the care that they need. Our staff and management are never too far away to answer any queries.

We recognise the importance of family and friends to our residents' wellbeing and encourage them to be an active part of our community. We also have strong ties and work closely with the local community, and over time have built a reputation as an organisation that genuinely cares for others.

Our Services

Holistic care that’s all about you. At The Cairns Aged Care Centre at Chapel Hill, we offer 24-hour permanent residential care including dementia care and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care. We also offer eligible residents in-house NDIS services.

Our staff and Chaplain go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our residents. Our residents are in good hands with our friendly, compassionate and qualified staff whose aim is to ensure all residents receive the best care possible and uphold their quality of life. We adopt person-centred care with each resident having their own dedicated care team.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Our approach to dementia care is led by each resident’s interests, feelings and emotions. We respect the rich lives they have led by tailoring our care based on their personal history in a dedicated dementia-friendly environment.

We offer a range of spacious single rooms with private ensuites, and the option of an interconnected room with shared ensuite. All rooms have large windows, allowing in plenty of natural light, with many rooms in view of the neighbouring mountains and hillsides.

Each room has:

  • 24-hour emergency call system with pendants, giving residents more freedom to move
  • WiFi and TV connection
  • Built-in cupboards
  • Air conditioning
  • Electronically adjustable beds

This is your home, you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories to dress the room to your own taste and preferences.*

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietician. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.
