This 49-bed Toorak residence takes you back to the grandeur of the 19th century with its Queen Anne style architecture. The stately mansion hosts a range of additional services to recapture the feeling of life at home.
A gracious entrance, with its stained glass door and columned portico, opens onto the high-ceilinged interior and manicured courtyards of BlueCross Darnlee. The heritage-listed mansion comprises 49 private rooms, each with their own ensuite, accommodating residents with high and low care needs.
An impeccably-furnished piano-room and manicured courtyards provide ample opportunity for relaxing or socialising with friends and visitors. Inside and out, original Queen Anne-style features have been meticulously restored, from the soaring turret and roof finials to the heritage architraves and ceiling roses.
The comprehensive leisure and lifestyle program runs activities ranging from gentle exercise to music therapy, in an effort to satisfy the diverse tastes and capabilities of its residents.

Meals
The choice menu can be altered according to specific dietary requirements. All meals are fresh, tasty and healthy and are created onsite everyday by our skilled resident chef. BlueCross Darlee believes food should always be an enjoyable part of life.
24-hour care from a friendly and professional team of staff ensures a constant sense of security, so residents can enjoy their lives free from worry.
Responsive and planned respite options are available to relieve families who are under pressure from care responsibilities.
STANDARD ROOM - Single room + private ensuite; maximum occupancy – 1 person. Size: 12.9–17.7 m2 excluding ensuite. Standard rooms at Darnlee may overlook the outdoor terraces and surrounding landscape. There is ample space for residents’ cherished belongings such as a favourite armchair or dressing table, photographs and other memorabilia. Each room has a height adjustable bed, a bedside and over-bed table, a small dining table, a built-in wardrobe, a lounge and a dining chair, hydronic heating, reverse cycle air conditioning, telephone connection points, a wall-mounted television, and a private ensuite.

SUPERIOR ROOM - Single room + private ensuite; maximum occupancy – 1 person. Size: 16.3–22 m2 excluding ensuite. Residents in Darnlee’s spacious Superior rooms may have views of the surrounding landscape or cityscape. They have a bay window and window seat with extra storage, and may also have private balcony access. They also provide all the amenities and furnishings of a Standard room.

APARTMENT ROOM - Single room + private ensuite; maximum occupancy – 1 person. Size: 39–54.9 m2 excluding ensuite. Apartments at Darnlee are situated in the original wing and enjoy all of its features, with period architecture including high ceilings, cornices and crown moulding. Each apartment has a separate living room, bedroom and views of Darnlee’s private gardens and custom-made furniture. The private ensuites are very large and feature marble tiles, heritage-style gold-plated taps and other luxury fittings.

My mother has been a resident of Darnlee for one year, and is very happy there. My family and I cannot praise or thank the efforts of all Staff at Darnlee who are like a big family to my mother and support and treat her with dignity at all times. The Front Desk/Administration is superbly manned by the Wonderful Penny who not only gave us our initial tour of Darnlee, but at all times is happy to receive phone calls from our family and assist my with professionalism and true warmth. Most importantly mum goes to speak with Penny daily as mum feels that Penny can handle anything, by so doing Penny minimises any anxiety our mother may feel. Thank you Penny. Darnlee have permanent Lifestyle Staff who engage all the residents daily with many interesting activities, mum particularly loves assisting Divya with the flowers on Fridays. Catering serving meals is also attended by friendly staff. Night nurses shower mum early, as she prefers this. Many volunteers are also at Darnlee.
