Aged Care Industry: Bethanie Medallion Winners Announced

The Bethanie Medallion winners were announced at an awards luncheon last Thursday to reward those who have made outstanding contributions to the aged care sector.

Elizabeth Ennis from Craigscare Marylands was the winner of not one, but two awards, the Bethanie Professional Medallion as well as the Bethanie All Rounder Medallion.

 

Ms Ennis has initiated numerous innovative programs including a Falls Treatment & Prevention program during her 30 years of experience as an RN in aged care.

The Bethanie Medallion winners were announced at an awards luncheon last Thursday to reward those who have made outstanding contributions to the aged care sector.

Ms Ennis has initiated numerous innovative programs including a Falls Treatment & Prevention program during her 30 years of experience as an RN in aged care.

The Bethanie Graduate Medallion was awarded to Ashley Rodway for his work at Bethanie Fields as an enrolled nurse. Mr Rodway has been working at Bethanie Fields since 2007.

The Bethanie Individual Volunteer Medallion was awared to Lui Tuia who have been serving the Donnybrook/Balingup Aged Care Homes Board as Chairperson for 38 years.

‘Rainbow Pete and Smiler’ or Lancy Clapp and Colleen Matthews were awarded the Bethanie Volunteer Organisation Medallion, for providing entertainment to residents in aged care facilities for the last 28 years.

The Bethanie Media Medallion was awarded to Frank Smith from Have a Go News for balanced reporting on aged care issues. Frank has a particular interest in the health and wellness issues affecting seniors.

The Bethanie Centenarian Medallion went to two centenarians who have significantly contributed to the aged care community this year.  Rita Johnson who is 100 years old still runs handicraft classes on Saturday afternoon at Bethanie in the Park. Whilst Irvine Hutchinson is 102 years old and is known for supporting new residents with orientation and settling in to Bethanie Joondanna.

Mr Hutchinson has been a resident at Bethanie Joondanna for more than 30 years.
