It’s back! Alexandra Gardens residents were excited to kick-off their intergenerational program again recently with a visit to Parkhurst Early Learning Centre. The program is a major annual highlight for residents and the young students alike, resulting in special bonds being formed and residents couldn’t wait to meet their new friends.
Last year, the Australian Government announced that long-awaited changes to Home Care would commence on July 1st, 2025. The new program, which changes the name from Home Care to “Support at Home”, will involve progressive changes over the next 2-3 years, starting from July 1st.
As we get older, everyday tasks like cooking, bathing, dressing, and managing medications can become more difficult - but that doesn’t mean giving up your independence. With the right home care provider, older Australians can continue living comfortably and safely in their own homes.
Resthaven Marion resident, Mr Harry Berger, is pleased that the AFL season is back in full swing! Harry, who was born in Wales, moved to Australia as a young man and began working as a salesman. ‘One of the first clients I visited asked me which football team I barracked for,’ Harry says. ‘At the time I didn’t support anyone, but my client offered me some sage advice. He said “pick an Australian Rules team to follow so you have something to talk to your clients about.”’
