Charingfield Aged Care Community in Waverley recently introduced a unique monthly activity that’s proving very popular with residents and staff. Resident, Derek, one of the co-founders of not-for-profit charity, Cycling Without Age, suggested Charingfield residents might enjoy this amazing community service. And they certainly did as they were carefully whisked away for fun rides around Centennial Park in specially designed trishaw e-bicycles.
Expressions of faith happen every day in Carinity seniors’ communities, but it’s not often that baptisms occur there. Carinity Wishart Gardens retirement village resident, Alvin McHugh, hasn’t let age or fear stop him from publicly confirming his commitment to Jesus Christ.
When Resthaven Malvern was in the market for a new cook, managers at the site asked resident Mr Ian Weekley to join them during the interview process. Of all the centenarians currently living in Carinity aged care communities, half moved in after they had turned 100. Arthur ‘Ron’ Neal is the latest. The 100-year-old is the oldest resident living at Carinity Kepnock Grove in Bundaberg. He was born Arthur Ronald Neal in Newcastle on 17 December 1924, to parents Arthur and Edna Neal.

For Ambrose Lau, the decision to volunteer at Multicultural Care was driven by a desire to enhance his CV and gain practical work experience during the final year of studying social science. With previous experience as a marketing intern and research intern, he wanted a chance to explore his interests and discover true passions.
