Mill Park aged care home BlueCross The Boulevard was bustling in a riot of colour and music this month as residents, their families, local businesses and community groups came together to celebrate the annual Family Fun Day.
The hawker market, roving musician and pop-up animal farm were a hit with all ages, but the real spectacle was the performance put on by the resident choir, VonBoulevard.
At 2pm, everyone dropped what they were doing to catch the group’s Family Fun Day debut, and no one could argue over its seamless execution.
The VonBoulevard repertoire included British World War I anthem ‘It's A Long Way To Tipperary’ and Marty Robbins’ classic ‘You Made Me Love You.’
Aged Care Online caught up with The Boulevard lifestyle coordinator Meg Willis after the show to discuss the important role music plays in the home.
