RSL Care Carrington Residents Received a Wonderful Christmas Treat

The residents at RSL Care Carrington were treated to a wonderful Christmas surprise, from the family run business, JnJ Photography, who specialise in individually tailored photography. JnJ Photography donated their time and resources over the Christmas period to take beautiful photographs of all the residents and give them the portraits for Christmas.

The photography company usually makes a donation to charity for Christmas but last year owner Nicole Couvaras and her family had a different idea on how they could give back to the community.

“We always make a donation to charity around this time of year but you never know where it winds up going, for Christmas 2015 we decided to do something different and donate our services to the residents at RSL Care Carrington,” Mrs Couvaras said.

“We donated both our time and equipment to do something special for the elderly citizens of the community as a way of giving back to them; each resident of RSL Care Carrington received a copy of their portrait absolutely free.

“We took individual shots, husband and wife, friends and even staff and all now have a special memento to keep forever.”

The residents have been delighted with the portraits taken of them; many have couldn't wait to show them to friends and family this Christmas. Around Christmas time RSL Care sees an influx of generosity from the community in the form of donations, gifts and volunteers.

RSL Care needs volunteers all year around and invites you to make a difference to the lives of people in your local community by donating as much or as little of your time as you can spare.

Volunteering provides an opportunity to learn new skills, build upon existing work and life experiences, all while making a difference to the lives of those around you.
