Happy Birthday Mrs Amber!

Mrs Eileen Amber knows a thing or two about longevity. Having turned 105 on Sunday 6 March, 2016 she says the key to her great age is "a positive attitude and keeping busy."

Mrs Amber, who moved to Resthaven Westbourne Park in February 2010, is an active member of the community. She says, "If you just sit around all day, you won’t get anywhere – the worst thing you can do in life is nothing."

"I still enjoy bus trips and outings, and getting my nails done. I also attend exercise class three times a week – believe me, they put us through our paces!"

"I don’t think you could get a better place than Resthaven. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Everybody is fantastic."

In honour of her milestone birthday, Mrs Amber received flowers and cards from the Queen, the Premier, the Attorney-General, and, of course, Resthaven Board President, Mark Porter (who also included a box of chocolates).

Sitting in her favourite armchair, surrounded by flowers, Eileen is testament to the power of a positive attitude.
