Work Officially Commences on Catholic Healthcare's Bathurst Redevelopment Project

on Thursday, March 31, 2016

Catholic Healthcare celebrated an important milestone with the commencement of construction at St Vincent’s Aged Care in Bathurst. To mark the occasion a sod-turning ceremony was held.

Once completed the new aged care service will offer state-of-the-art design, including a 130 bed-residential aged care service within an integrated aged care campus providing community care and healthcare services. This development will add an additional 31 new aged care beds for the Bathurst region.

At the heart of the development is Catholic Healthcare’s commitment to build a residential service that is as ‘home-like’ as possible, with a cafe, hair salon and a number of dining and living areas. There will also be a dementia unit with safe and secure outdoor walking areas and courtyards.

Catholic Healthcare’s, General Manager of Residential Care Anne Maree Hodgson said, “Catholic Healthcare is looking forward to continuing to offer a high standard of aged care services to the seniors of the region.” Ms Hodgson said.

“The private bedrooms with ensuites will be roomy enough for families to gather, plus there will also be lounge and sitting rooms, activities areas and a chapel for communal gatherings,” she continued.

This $24.5 million development project is scheduled for completion in mid-2017.
