Ghouls and Ghosts Make an Appearance for Mercy Health’s Halloween

on Monday, October 31, 2016

Fright night will become a ghoulish afternoon when residents at Mercy Place Mandurah don their creepiest costumes to celebrate Halloween today.

With spooky punch and spine-tingling tunes setting a devilish backdrop, All Hallows’ Eve will see wicked witches, dreaded demons and ghastly ghosts take over the aged care home in a Halloween party to beat all others.

Mercy Place Mandurah Service Manager, Christina Venables, said residents and staff were looking forward to transforming their everyday persona into something a little more offbeat.

“Many of our residents wouldn’t have celebrated Halloween when they were children, because it has only really become popular over the past decade in Australia,” she said.

“So this is a chance for our seniors to experience some of the magic of dressing up and trick or treating.

“At Mercy Health, we think it’s important to create opportunities for both our staff and residents to have some fun and joviality in an inclusive way.”
