A Man of Culinary Passion & Skill

Sabu is a man on a mission, a mission that showcases passion and dedication to the mastery of gastronomy. His seven year journey with Regis has seen him come full circle.

Starting as a Food Services Assistant at Regis East Malvern in 2009, Sabu quickly demonstrated a natural talent and enthusiasm for the culinary arts. Within two years at Regis he progressed to second chef and with Regis East Malvern closing for redevelopment transferred to Regis Blackburn.

Soon after, he moved effortlessly into the role of Chef Manager at Regis Armadale.

Sabu’s time at the Armadale Club Services facility showcased an ability to create culinary dishes with immense taste and quality. Praise from the facility locum doctor sums up Sabu’s skills.

“The meals, they are high quality and tasty. Frankly the best I have seen or heard in the various facilities I visit. It's great to be able sit with a relative and have what they are having as their "guest". The peach chicken and lemon fish are legendary… that golden syrup pudding is to die for.”

During the next five years Sabu had the opportunity to work at various Regis facilities across Victoria demonstrating the same skill and enthusiasm for the culinary craft.

In September 2016, he was delighted to return to the newly opened Regis East Malvern facility as Chef Manager.

“Regis gave me a lot of opportunity to grow and develop as a Chef Manager," said Sabu. "I would especially like to thank Mark Wilkinson for his coaching and mentoring. Regis gives me a lot of support. I had a lot of experience working in many different Regis sites. I feel honoured and privileged to be Chef Manager at Regis current flagship facility Regis East Malvern, back where I first started working for Regis”.
