Freedom Aged Care Scavenger Hunt

on Friday, April 7, 2017

Freedom Aged Care families in Victoria recently competed in a scavenger hunt - Freedom style!

Freedom families from Hawthorn, Glen WaverleyBurwoodCheltenham and Sandringham, boarded their village buses and toured different locations around eastern Melbourne in February.

Each team’s objective was to capture as many moments of their team completing set tasks of the scavenger hunt, including having tea at a café, playing at a park, popping into Bunnings, giving a random a hug or two... and one team was spotted pouring some cheeky beers at the local pub!

After busy morning scavenging, the teams got together to for a well-deserved lunch and to announce the winning communities - Freedom Aged Care Cheltenham and Freedom Aged Care Sandringham who had joined together as one team for the day.

Victorian Regional Manager, Lisa, who was with the residents and winning team said everyone enjoyed the day, they loved being able to go at their own pace and meet residents from other communities while getting up to some mischief;  “They just had a ball, taking photos with the garden gnomes at Bunnings. For one lady it was her first time having take-way coffee from a disposable cup, another lady it was her first time getting to pour a beer.”

Freedom Aged Care residents from communities in Albany Creek, Morayfield, Tanah Merah and Clayfield will also be boarding their village buses and touring different locations around Brisbane next week for day of scavenger hunting.
