We all know how important our furry friends can be to us and the bond that is formed between an owner and their pet.

However there are many aged care residences that restrict the type of pets which are allowed in aged care homes or ban pets altogether.

It is important to take this into consideration when looking for residential aged care homes if you know your loved one will not want to leave their pet behind if they do not have to.

If you find there are no appropriate aged care homes that will accept pets, then you may have to arrange the pet/s to be adopted or taken care of by someone else. There may be family members or friends who are happy to give the pet a loving home.
