Regis Aged Care has acquired Playford Village from Baptist Care (SA) Inc. which will be finalised by July 1 2013, subject to approval from the Department of Health & Ageing. Regis CEO Ross Johnston said Regis were very excited to be adding the 125-bed aged care home in their 20th anniversary year. “We are very excited to be adding Playford Village to our family of aged care homes across Australia” he said.He added that all staff currently working at Baptist Care (SA) Inc. would be invited to join Regis Aged Care and there would be no redundancies.
Baptist Care (SA) Inc. CEO Paul Scully described the acquisition as “mutually beneficial” for both Baptist Care and Regis Aged Care. He said that Regis’ long established presence in the country gave them “peace of mind that care levels will be maintained for existing residents and staff will have on-going employment and career development opportunities.”
Regis Aged Care will have a total of three aged care facilities in South Australia once the acquisition of Playford Village is finalised. The aged care provider currently has 45 facilities across the country and employs more than 4,700 healthcare professionals.
