On Tuesday 30 June, the Grand Opening of 30 new bed extension at Kelaston Aged Care Facility, marks the completion of a vision which was three years in the making and will provide additional and much needed residential aged care accommodation to the local community.
The ceremony to mark the opening of this state of the art development will took place in the grounds of the Kelaston Aged Care Facility.
“The $7.5 million building development is a significant investment in the Ballarat community and has provided between 150-200 new jobs…from planning, construction, building, and design right through to nursing, carers, chefs, doctors, cleaners and laundry personnel,” explains Mr. Andrew Sudholz, CEO for Japara Healthcare Ltd.
“This development, which includes a significant refurbishment of the existing facility, provides high quality single room accommodation for the ageing population in the Ballarat region and supports the delivery of the high standards of care for which Kelaston is renowed for” Mr. Sudholz stated.
Kelaston Aged Care is part of the residential aged care provider, Aged Care Services Australia group, operating entity of Japara Healthcare who own and operate 39 Aged Care facilities across four states in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and South Australia.
Japara has recently completed a new 90 bed facility in Albury, a 30 bed extension to Mirridong Aged Care Facility in Bendigo, an extension in Carrum Downs and a 60 bed facility in Doncaster in response to the increasing demand from our ageing population.
