You are invited to attend a special presentation and afternoon tea at Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged in Bayswater on Friday the 28th of August.
Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged and Sabine Nielson from the Australian-German Welfare Society Present:
The Story of the Cuckoo Restaurant in Olinda
When: Friday 28th August from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Where: Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged | 31-41 Elizabeth Street, Bayswater VIC
This special presentation will be followed by an Afternoon Tea.
A very special guest, known to many (not only in the German community) will tell her story - Karin Koeppen, long time owner of the Cuckoo Restaurant in Olinda. What is a trip to the Dandenong's without a visit to the Cuckoo? It is hard to believe that Karin and her husband bought a small, ramshackle cafe in 1956, called Cafe Quamby...and it is still going strong!
After Karin's presentation, Valeri (an accomplished musician and well known to Cuckoo visitors) will entertain us with some wonderful tunes on his accordion. A gold coin donation is requested to cover cost of catering
Bookings are essential. Please phone (03) 8720 1333 or email events@ttha.org.au to secure your place.
