on Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Finding an aged care home for yourself or a loved one can be a stressful and daunting task. Many people don’t even know where to begin so we have put together a quick and simple guide to assist you with finding a place in residential aged care.

Determine your eligibility

The first thing to do when looking for residential aged care, is find out whether you are eligible for government subsidised aged care. To do this, you will need to undergo and Aged Care Assessment.

Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to  register & organise an Aged Care Assessment.

Find a suitable aged care residence

Once you have determined your eligibility for government subsidised aged care, the next step is to find an aged care home that suits the needs of you or your loved one. To begin your search for residential aged care near you, simply click on your state below:

All you have to do is type in your desired suburb and a list of nearby aged care homes will be displayed. Here, you’ll be able to view current vacancies available, approximate costs, photos, virtual tours and reviews. You’ll also be able to contact the aged care home directly, either by phone or filling out an online enquiry form.
