Residents at Wesley Mission Queensland’s Sinnamon Village age care communities know the key to a good life is spending time with family and friends – and with the opening of Sinnamon Village’s new club lounge, entertaining just got a bit fancier!
With its art deco design, the space features plush lounges and arm chairs, a fully functioning bar and kitchen amenities. There are also computers for residents who want to catch up on their emails or browse the internet.
Although the Club Lounge has only recently opened, the space is already a success, with residents reporting that time spent in the lounge is a delight.
Annie Gibney, Director of Residential Aged Care, says the space encourages residents to enjoy the finer things in life.
“Each of us knows how wonderful it is to be able to invite loved ones over to spend time together. The Club Lounge is the ideal space for residents and their families to do this; whether it’s just for a chat, or maybe to celebrate big milestones, like a birthday or anniversary. This environment empowers residents to live life their way.
“We’ve already seen residents use the space to play board games with their family and friends, watch a film, or just enjoy a drink at ‘happy hour’”.
The Club Lounge will also be a space for mingling and making new friends, with social events, including movie nights, planned for residents in the future.
