Leading aged care provider Brightwater has confirmed the appointment of Di Bennett as the manager of Brightwater At Home, the home care division of the 116-year-old, not-for-profit organisation which supports WA’s ageing population with residential accommodation, home care and disability services.
In this role, Ms Bennett will lead a team of 200 staff, comprising allied health professionals, support workers and client coordinators to oversee the provision of care within the home to approximately 1,100 people.
The appointment comes at an opportune time, in the wake of new reforms relating to consumer directed care which came online at the end of February.
Brightwater CEO Jennifer Lawrence said Ms Bennett’s expertise in the area of change management made her a stand-out applicant for the role.
“Di brings a tremendous passion for people and strong leadership skills to the table, as well as a solid grasp of this fast evolving marketplace. We’re looking forward to having her at the helm of Brightwater At Home and welcome the fresh insights she will bring to help further strengthen our role in empowering people to live at home for as long as they want,” Ms Lawrence said.
Prior to joining Brightwater, Ms Bennett held a similar role overseeing operations for quality, people and systems. She has also held a variety of leadership roles for public and private hospitals and care providers over the past 30 years Ms Bennett brings with her a wealth of experience in the WA health sector.
Brightwater At Home currently provides clinical care and lifestyle support for older Western Australians living between Yanchep and Bunbury.
