Residents are settling into their brand new home, following the opening of a new Catholic Healthcare aged care service in Bathurst.
Over the past 14 days, residents from the old St Catherine's Aged Care on Busby Street, existing St Vincent's Residential Aged Care residents and Catholic Community Servies staff have all moved into their new home on Gormans Hill Road.
"I didn't think it would be so beautiful," one resident commented, another said "it's like a hotel".
One family member of a St Catherine's resident remarked "new place, same spirit, care and compassion."
Stage one of the new Bathurst development sees the merge of Catholic Healthcare's St Vincent's Residential Aged Care, St Catherine's Aged Care and Catholic Community Services.
Once all stages of construction are completed mid-year, the new intergrated campus will include a 130 room residential aged care service, home and community care, together with local healthcare services.
"I would like to personally acknowledge and thank everyone who has made this development possible, especially the local Bathurst staff who are working tirelessly to ensure that next Tuesday and beyond, runs smoothly for our residents, their families and our staff," Residential Care General Manager, Anne Maree Hodgson said.
