Aurrum Aged Care’s food revolution continues with further steps made to improve catering and food services. Changes commence initially at Aurrum Norah Head and will roll-out across all Aurrum operating facilities in NSW and VIC in the coming months.
At the forefront of the exciting new development is Blake Hammond, Aurrum’s new Group Hospitality Manager. A chef with 20 years’ experience in 5 star hotels, corporate fine dining, restaurants and catering in prestigious universities and independent schools. Blake brings with him to Aurrum a wealth of culinary and hospitality experience alongside a passion for innovation and excellence.
“As Group Hospitality Manager I will be working closely with the Aurrum leadership team to introduce a variety of innovations in the food and service offering to our residents.
Aurrum have a reputation of excellence in the aged care industry and it is a privilege to be working with a team of dedicated professionals.
I welcome the opportunity to bring sophisticated, innovative menus along with a high quality dining ambience. I look forward to mentoring a team of genuine hospitality professionals to make a difference in the lives of our residents with the understanding that good quality nutritious food is contributing to their care and wellness.” – Blake Hammond, Aurrum Group Hospitality Manager
Aurrum’s vision and values are built around a family focused, person-centred care model, at the heart of which lies the importance of food. Nutritious, tasty, home-cooked meals, cooked with seasonal fresh produce of the highest quality is paramount.
Menus are developed in conjunction with Aurrum dieticians and individual, personalised dietary requirements can be catered for. Monthly food focus groups give residents and their families the opportunity to taste suggested new menu items and provide constructive feedback.
Working closely with Melissa Ruffa, Group Dietician, and leading Australian chef and Aurrum Food Ambassador Karen Martini, Blake is working on unique developments to further enhance Aurrum’s food offerings.
