Just Better Care’s Susanne Jones took to the stage at the recent Health Metrics World Conference, held at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne, to discuss ways of providing a flexible, whole-of-life approach to in-home care.
Susanne, who is the owner and director of the Just Better Care Brisbane North, CBD and Outer North franchises, captivated the audience as she explained how providers of community care and support can disrupt the market, and why connecting and collaborating with competing providers could be a good thing.
The conference addressed key issues surrounding the future of health and ageing in Australia and brought together leaders in residential aged care, retirement villages and home care provision.
Susanne said it was a wonderful experience to share her knowledge of this industry, while also absorbing new insights about technology and innovation in the health sector.
“The Health Metrics World Conference was an incredible opportunity to listen to leaders in the health, ageing and disabilities space talk about a spate of different topics,” Susanne explained.
“Spanning from forecasting in aged care and understanding the paradox between consumer choice and duty of care, to technology in retirement and business, the program was very captivating.
“It provided a keen outlook into the future of aged care and the ageing world, and how we will manage the ongoing changes into the future.”
With a career spanning the not-for-profit, private and allied health support sectors, Susanne has developed global experience in healthcare and a passion for authenticity and inspiring leadership.
Susanne was joined at the conference by Just Better Care Chief Operating Officer Alison Chandler and Just Better Care Melbourne Mornington franchise owners Duane Letson and Callum McMillan.
The conference was opened by Tim Ferguson, one of Australia’s most accomplished comedians, authors and keynote speakers who has battled Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years.
The conference’s speaker line-up included Health Metrics’ Steven Strange, Retirement Living Council’s Ben Myers, the Victorian Health Association’s Tom Symondson and Redesign My Brain host Todd Sampson, among many other notable figures in the health, ageing and community care sectors.
