Today Marks a Big Day for Anglican Care

on Monday, November 6, 2017

Today is shaping up as an exciting day for Anglican Care, with the launch of an innovative new programme and an award for van favourite “Rene” at Storm Village, Taree

Joining Anglican Care to launch the dementia specific programme DART will be Dr David Gillespie MP, Member for Lyne.

The Direct Action Response Team, to be known as DART, aims to treat the person on an individual basis by building knowledge of their health status, environment, past experiences, interests and family.  On the escalation of dementia symptoms, Anglican Care’s DART team will be dispatched to the consumers home or Anglican Care’s residential aged care homes.

“Without a medical or therapy breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to reach 1,100,890 by 2056 and currently around 244 people each day are joining the population with dementia.  The more we can support programmes such as DART, the better.”

And the celebrations don’t stop there! Anglican Care’s favourite little van “Rene” the lifestyle van has been awarded a Better Practise Award and will be presented with it by Tracey Clerk from the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.
