There was plenty of cake for everyone on Friday the 16th of February when Bolton Clarke’s Inverpine community celebrated 21 years of making a difference in Murrumba Downs.
Two staff members had an extra special celebration, having also called the community home for those last two decades.
Hotel Services Team Leader Robyn Mutton and Person Carer Pamela Ayton said they had watched the Inverpine site grow from humble beginnings.
“When I was first here, it was only the hostel and part of the special care unit open,” Robyn said.
“At that time there was only 51 residents.”
Now the site caters for a total of 94 people in Residential Aged Care and many more living independently in the adjacent retirement village.
Robyn, who had always worked in the Health Services, began her stint at Inverpine as a Personal Carer, before moving into her current role as Hotel Services Team Leader.
She said it’s important for residents to come together on days such like the anniversary to share memories and celebrate.
Resident Nola Wherrett couldn’t agree more and said she enjoyed the regular community celebrations.
“We had a beautiful Christmas day and were given beautiful gifts,” she said.
“The nurses are really lovely and will do anything for you.”
Staff and residents enjoyed a special morning tea and concert in celebration of Inverpine’s milestone.
