With A Hop, Skip & a Jump, Bolton Clarke Centaur Bounces Into Easter

Easter is on its way and Bolton Clarke’s Centaur Memorial community at Caloundra has sprung into the spirit with its 25^th annual Easter Concert.

Surrounded by their colourful handmade Easter bonnets residents joined with staff, volunteers and families to enjoy a morning of music, dancing and everything quintessentially Easter.

Diversional Therapist Pam Greig said she was thrilled with the large turnout at this year’s concert.

“We had our sister site from Caboolture join us and many families came along,” she said.

Ms Greig said the large turnout was testament to the work of the more than 65 dedicated volunteers who helped pull the special day together.

“In the last year the team did more than 14,000 hours of voluntary work,” she said.

“They all help in different areas and are the backbone of our home.

“If I need something I just call them and they’re there.”

Entertainer Terry Scott, who performed at the concert, is also one of the family, having been coming to Centaur Memorial for the past 25-years.

The professional performer started his career in the community as a young man taking the time to perform for residents on his weekends.

Now well established, Mr Scott continues to come to the site and enjoys the satisfaction of helping residents create happy memories through singing and dancing.

“We call him our adopted son,” Ms Greig said.

The Centaur Memorial community uses the Easter concert as its major fundraiser for the year, supporting additional materials for special projects like the Easter bonnets.
