Residents at Bolton Clarke Fernhill Enjoy Sing-a-long Concert

on Monday, July 16, 2018

Residents at Bolton Clarke’s Fernhill community in Caboolture, Queensland, know how to raise their voices for a good time.

Residential aged care residents gathered last week for a sing-a-long concert led by local performer, Finn Nielsen.

“The singing gives the residents opportunity to exercise their vocal cords and promotes a sense of community,” said Finn. “It really brings people together.”

Finn makes a point to cover the music that residents know and love. He will take requests, too, if he knows them.

“Today we sang Ain’t She Sweet, (which was recorded by multiple artists, but most remember The Beatles or Frank Sinatra), and Sunny Side of the Street, by Louis Armstrong, among others. It’s great fun.”

The occasion also provided the perfect moment to pause for cake and celebrate resident birthdays for the month - with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday of course.

Activities Coordinator, Kris Gunn, said the concert is a popular regular event at Bolton Clarke Fernhill.
