BlueCross|SapphireCare welcomes new Interim Chief Executive

on Tuesday, August 14, 2018

BlueCross|SapphireCare is delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Putamorsi as the Interim Chief Executive, effective 6 August 2018. He is taking over from Adjunct Professor Alan Lilly who has been the CEO since September 2016.

Robert has been a part of the BlueCross|SapphireCare Leadership Team since October 2017 as Executive General Manager – Business Development, Property and Infrastructure.

Robert brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in retirement living and aged care. Having started his career as a Certified Practising Accountant and Auditor, Robert has held a variety of senior leadership roles in finance, operations, commercial and business development at Australian Unity. Robert’s last role at Australian Unity was the General Manager - Retirement Communities.

Robert has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is both a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) and a licensed real estate agent. He has also held a range of Director roles in property development and home care businesses.

Board Chair Dr Julie Caldecott says Mr Putamorsi’s excellent credentials, leadership and aged care experience makes him well placed to be the Interim Chief Executive at BlueCross|SapphireCare.

“Over the years, Robert has developed extensive knowledge in aged care and retirement village living. His excellent track record in these sectors will help us achieve our growth and expansion plans into the future,” says Dr Caldecott.

Reflecting on his appointment, Mr Putamorsi says he is honoured to be given the opportunity to build on the great work of his predecessor, Adj Prof Lilly, and looks forward to meeting with residents, families and staff in the coming months.

BlueCross and Sapphire Care merged in July 2017, making it one of the largest aged care providers in Victoria, operating 33 aged care residences and caring for more than 2500 residents and home care clients across metropolitan Melbourne, Phillip Island and Kilmore.
