Royal Freemasons Opens New Aged Care Residence in Bacchus Marsh

The Moorabool Mayor, Cr Paul Tatchell, officially opened Royal Freemasons Bacchus Marsh on Sunday, 12^th August. The festive Open Day was attended by Moorabool Shire and Melton Councillors, local Freemasons, local guests and other dignitaries as well as over 500 individuals and families from the local Bacchus Marsh community who were keen to see the outstanding aged care offering.

The official opening provided the opportunity for local health networks and the community to tour the state-of-the-art aged care facility and learn how it will support residents and their families.

“It’s a fantastic ‘home’, when you consider the 190 jobs and then the economic knock-on of that, what it will do for the town will be enormous,” said Cr Paul Tatchell, Mayor of Moorabool Shire Council. The modern facility will employ approximately 165 people in full and permanent part-time roles. There will also be a further 25 people employed on a casual basis to cover personal leave provisions, with the majority living locally to the facility.

Cr Tatchell was also impressed by the bright and spacious design and amenities. “It provides local people with an opportunity to go into aged care locally and this creates a whole heap of opportunities in terms of keeping people close to home, keeping people close to where they know they belong.” Each room has direct access to gardens, which allows the rooms to be filled with light and create a feeling of openness.

Royal Freemasons Bacchus Marsh provides private rooms for 144 residents that cater for couples and single people, and those needing specialised care from the Memory Support team. There are various rooms on offer, all providing private en-suites, smart TVs, built-in wardrobes and more.
