Last week, a handful of residents transitioned into their new home in the renovated and modernised section of Banksia Unit, at MannaCare’s Cassia House. Residents are now accommodated in brand new single rooms with private ensuites, following the demolition of existing shared rooms.
Residents now have access to wide open spaces, a manicured courtyard and a dining room which opens onto the balcony overlooking the ranges.
Residents have settled down in no time and they, their family members and the staff absolutely love their new space and surroundings. For the safety and care of residents, communal areas such as the lounge, corridors and balcony will be monitored by cameras which are yet to be activated.
This is the first stage of MannaCare’s redevelopment which is due to be completed in March 2019. As of this week, the builders take over the old section of Banksia Unit to commence Stage Two of building works. Another cluster of new single rooms with private ensuites will be built as part of these building upgrades.
Ross Dawson, CEO says “after several years of saving, consultation, planning and then execution it is gratifying to see that the finished product has been so well received.”
