Celebrating One Year Of Village Life at St Patrick's Green

It’s now been one year since Greengate opened the doors of St Patrick’s Green, Kogarah to the very first retirement village residents. Now home to over 100 seniors, St Patrick's Green village still hasn’t lost that brand-new feeling you get when you enter into the exquisite reception area. 

Since opening, residents have happily settled into village life in Kogarah’s favourite seniors community. The residents get together every week for a barbeque on the terrace, and enjoy catching up for a cuppa in the beautifully landscaped village green: a quiet oasis in the heart of the village where residents can enjoy the sun amongst the palms and crepe myrtle. 

"Moving into St Patrick’s Green has felt like coming home," said Pat, one of the first residents to move into the village in December 2017. "This site used to be the school where I sent my children, and I worked in the canteen. This area has been my home for 60 years and it’s been great to reconnect with some of the other parents who have also moved in here. Making the move to St Patrick’s Green was the obvious decision for me; I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else."

Located in the heart of Kogarah, close to shops, public transport and hospitals, St Patrick’s Green has answered the call of St George Seniors who wanted to retire in the area they know and love. The café is the place to be of a morning, with fellow residents meeting for morning tea at 10am. You can smell the coffee the minute you get out of the lifts, with the coffee machine running all day for those who love a little caffeine fix. Morning tea is prepared each day by Nelson and his team of in-house chefs who pride themselves on creating a variety of tasty cakes, biscuits and sweets.
