Five Bethanie Sites Receive a Makeover

Bethanie, Western Australia’s most recognised not-for-profit aged care and retirement living provider has recently invested over $5 million towards refurbishments of five of their existing aged care homes. The Elanora, Peel, Joondanna, Illawong and Geneff homes have all been given a makeover as Bethanie develops additional capacity in their existing residential care sector, enhancing the quality and amenity of accommodation for residents.

Bethanie Peel in Coodanup consists of 50 bedrooms with private ensuites, currently occupied by 50 residents.

The aged care home provides residents with multiple communal spaces which have all been refurbished to improve the quality of the living environment for residents. All resident rooms received split-system air-conditioning units and there has been an upgrade to the nurse call system, enhancing the responsiveness and visibility of residents in need.

An additional commercial kitchen has been built and all cabinetry to the four servery kitchens has been replaced. The entire home has been freshly painted and common area floor coverings replaced, plus installation of new window fittings and upgrades to furnishings and décor. External landscaping has also been upgraded throughout to encourage residents to spend time outdoors and a boundary wall to the home has been built to increase security and external amenity.

Bethanie Elanora is an 81-bedroom aged care home with both private ensuites and shared bathrooms. The aged care home provides residents with multiple communal spaces which have all been refurbished and all resident rooms now have split-system air-conditioning units. The commercial kitchen has new flooring and all cabinetry and benches have been replaced.

The entire home has been freshly painted with new colour scheme throughout, common area floor coverings replaced, and all shared bathrooms have also been refurbished. New window treatments have been installed and upgrades made to furnishings and décor.

Bethanie Geneff in Innaloo is a 32-bed aged care home which has seen significant improvement works including refurbishment to all common areas including new painted colour scheme, new furniture, window treatments, floor coverings and artwork, as well as upgrades to residents’ kitchens and laundry rooms including new appliances and cabinetry. There is also a new reception desk, automatic entrance doors, Wellness Room and Store upgrading with new cabinetry, new shade sails and blinds outdoors, a nurse call upgrade and new CCTV cameras. 

Bethanie Illawong in Hamilton Hillis a 39-bed aged care home and has seen significant upgrades including new landscaping and courtyard patio, upgrades to bedroom cabinetry and bathroom flooring, air conditioning to bedrooms and nurse call.

Bethanie Joondanna is a 60-bed aged care home with significant improvements including new painted colour scheme, new furniture, window treatments, floor coverings and artwork, plus a nurse call upgrade and new CCTV cameras.

All works were carried out by Tallwood Constructions and managed by Bethanie Property and Development, including Bethanie interior design selections and contract administration.
