CraigCare Plumpton Villa in Glenroy Supports Local Basketball Team

CraigCare Plumpton Villa in Glenroy is proud to support its local basketball team, the Coburg Giants. CraigCare donates the use of one of their buses when the Giants have to play away games in Mornington, Western Port, Chelsea, Pakenham and Wallan. 

The transport CraigCare provides means the Giants field a strong team each week – without the bus several players could not participate because they do not have parents available to transport them.

The team operates through Coburg Basketball Association. The Head Coach of the program, Oliver Reid, says “as a team we are developing young men under 23 years old beyond basketball. Some of the players come from vulnerable backgrounds and have to balance out playing, further study and employment.”

They are raising funds to help provide the players with access to:

• Strength & Conditioning
• USA Scholarship Pathways
• Internship & Interview Skills
• Travel & Playing Expenses
