Bethanie, Western Australia’s most recognised not-for-profit aged care and retirement living provider held a morning tea last week to celebrate Betty Owen’s 25th year of living at Bethanie Elanora aged care home.
Betty’s morning tea was attended by family, residents and staff members who have had the pleasure of caring for her over the last quarter of a century.
Betty came to Elanora on 5th February 1994, requiring full time care following a brain injury sustained at a very young age from a motor vehicle accident, in which Betty was the passenger.
Soon after Betty’s arrival at Elanora, her parents moved into the Bethanie Elanora Independent Living Units so they could be close to her, as well as her two sisters living in Bunbury.
Betty’s sister Margaret says, “Betty’s very happy at Elanora, because this is her home.”
Bethanie Elanora Facility Manager Carolyn Douglas adds, “Betty is a pleasure to look after, always happy and smiling, and thoroughly enjoys participating in activities.”
