Support Service and Customer Service Manager Robert Cumberworth from Bethanie Elanora had the idea to build an ice cream cart to provide hydration to residents during the warmer months that would engage with them in a fun, nostalgic and sensory way.
The cart was built by maintenance wizard Ray Behrendt with the assistance of volunteer Barry Sisson using an old BBQ frame. The cart has two lids with eskies inside to hold the ice cream and icy poles. It also has a Bluetooth speaker to play the famous ice cream jingle ‘Greensleeves’.
