A Celebration of Young and Old

on Monday, July 22, 2019

Earlier this month, Resthaven Aberfoyle Park held a ‘Grandparents Day’, with entertainment by a very enthusiastic group of grand - and great-grandchildren!

Lifestyle Coordinator, Michelle Hobbs, says, "First up, we had the great-granddaughter of Mrs Wilkinson, Tash, who bravely performed on her saxophone for us all."

"Then, Tash’s sister, Jess, was supported to read a story to the crowd."

"Mrs Marshall’s great-grandson, Tarkan, played a few tunes on the piano, and what a great job he did."

"The fun continued with Mrs Lloyd-Jones’ son in law, Corey, and grandchildren, Dylan, Charlie and Sienna, who got us moving with some balloon tennis."

"Residents were delighted with the “show”, and it was beautiful to see the special connection that residents share with the youngest members of their families."

"It is very important to us to celebrate the special role that older people play in the lives of their families and communities."

"It was a fantastic day, and we thank all those who came along."

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park opened in June 2018, and is just one of Resthaven’s twelve high quality residential aged care homes. Resthaven provides aged care services across metropolitan Adelaide and throughout the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, lower Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula, and the Limestone Coast.
