The beginning of Spring brings about a special celebration for clients and their families at Arcare Peregian Springs. Over 200 people turned up to Arcare Peregian Springs’ annual Spring Festival!
Organised by Lifestyle Coordinator Di, there was face-painting for the kids, potted plants for sale, raffle prizes, free books, a sausage sizzle, a jumble sale, and pikelets and coffee available for visitors.
But the animal farm and pony rides were a big hit with the kids!
The local animal farm had brought a variety of animals such as goats, sheep, piglets, chickens, roosters and guinea pigs.
As the adorable animals oinked, baaaa-ed and neighed, the kids couldn’t help but laugh and cuddle with them.
Residence manager Josey was also there to make sure everything went well and that the clients had a chance to cuddle up close with the animals.
“It’s great for the clients to enjoy this festival with their children and grandchildren” Josey said.
Another popular activity among the kids was the face-painting, done by Arcare Peregian Spring’s general services manager, Cheryl.
From colourful butterflies to cartoon characters, the queue for face-painting never stopped as the kids kept on coming!
With the help of Arcare Peregian Springs’ volunteers, many items were nearly sold out at the café, jumble sale and plant sale!
The sausage sizzle, ran by café attendant Ash and his children, was also very popular.
They cooked and served over 10kg of sausages throughout the event, with many people coming back for delicious seconds.
The Arcare Peregian Springs’ October Spring Festival is a wonderful weekend activity to encourage family visits, catch-ups with friends and community involvement.
“This event is for the community and by the community. We want to thank our wonderful staff and volunteers for the help on the day,” Di said.
And the highlight of the event was definitely seeing three generations of family members enjoy the annual Spring Festival.
