First Steps Taken for New Braemar Homes

The concrete has been poured during the first stage of construction work for the new block of independent living units which are being built at Challenger Place in Melville by Braemar Presbyterian Care.

The units are destined for current residents who are presently living at the nearby Braemar Gardens complex in Bicton, which will be decommissioned and used for future redevelopment purposes once the block of units is completed.

“This is a key milestone for the long awaited development of Challenger Place and is a sign of our commitment to our current residents who we regard as very much part of our Braemar family,” says Braemar Presbyterian Care Project and Asset Manager Amy Andrews.

“These residents have lived at Braemar Gardens in Bicton for many years. Braemar is their home and we are committed to them and also to providing for their future by building beautiful, contemporary homes for them, where they can remain living happy, enriched lives.”

The concrete pour is the first milestone in the boutique, multi-million dollar development, which will provide state of the art homes for existing Braemar residents, which will also incorporate fully landscaped garden areas.

"Braemar has been passionate about the care of elderly West Australians for over 65 years and we’re committed to providing quality aged care accommodation in Melville and the nearby suburbs,” Ms Andrews added.

The construction work is a collaboration between Braemar Presbyterian Care and The ABN Group, which has extensive experience in NDIS and retirement living developments.
