Catholic Healthcare was delighted to receive a cheque from the former Forbes Jemalong Aged Peoples Association for $1.25 million, contributing towards the development of its Retirement Living Village in Forbes.
Michael Lockwood, General Manager, Property of Catholic Healthcare said, “As an organisation we continue to grow and expand our services for seniors and the community as the demand for aged care and retirement living increases. We look forward to unveiling the finished product next year and welcoming our first residents to their new home.
“We are extremely grateful to the former Forbes Jemalong Aged Peoples Association for their generous donation towards this development. They previously donated the land for this development, and their financial contribution is critical as we know that community infrastructure plays an important role in keeping people together in regional towns,” he added.
In attendance at the cheque presentation were members of the former Forbes Jemalong Aged Peoples Association, Alister Lockhart, Graeme Miller and Judith Kerr, and Catholic Healthcare’s Michael Lockwood, Mark Ardouin, Manager - Construction and Residential Manager of Jemalong Residential Village, Evelyn Quade.
Stage 1 of the new Retirement Living Village is due for completion in June 2020 and will feature 19 new free-standing villas. The two and three bedroom villas will be spacious and light and will have open-plan layouts ideal for living and entertaining.
The village will also feature a community room in addition to a newly expanded café, activities room and chapel in the adjoining residential aged care home. A total of 60 villas will be available once all stages are completed.
