Clients, family members and staff from Uniting aged care and community services across the state, celebrated NSW Seniors Festival at Uniting’s 23rd annual Seniors Ball on Friday 14th February.
Uniting has been hosting the event every year, since 1996 to coincide with NSW Seniors Festival which encourages older Australians to continue to lead active lives, to engage in new activities and cultivate new friendships.
It has since grown into a full-themed night of dancing, entertainment and food.
This year’s Seniors Ball was held at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and the theme for the night was ‘The Greatest Spectacle on Earth’.
Volunteers and employees dressed as ringmasters, stilt-walkers and acrobats to celebrate the carnival atmosphere with clients and family members.
Renee England (Uniting Head of Residential Operations, Sydney South East) said, “It’s always amazing to see so many people get excited and happy to participate, by dressing up to party on the night. It’s a great event which presents an opportunity for clients, family and staff to socialise in a fun environment and celebrate ageing actively and positively."
