Picture Perfect Postcards at Resthaven Aberfoyle Park

Mrs Juanita McCallum, a resident of Resthaven Aberfoyle Park, is to thank for a new initiative at the home to provide postcards for residents to send to families and friends.

The postcards, which depict professional photos of Resthaven Aberfoyle Park, are sold for minimal cost at reception, with all proceeds going towards the lifestyle program.

Mrs McCallum explains that she had the idea for the postcards because "Everybody needs to know they’re cared about and looked after – and I wanted to show everyone the beauty of my home."

"Yes, this is my home. It means I’ve got a place of happiness. It’s such a lovely, happy feeling."

"When the postcards came in, I sent them around to all of my friends, and my daughter in Balaclava."

"Many went over to England."

Mrs McCallum is a wonderful asset to the Resthaven Aberfoyle Park site community, opening saying that she "likes people," and has "had a lot of joy in my life."

Celebrating 85 years in 2020, Resthaven Incorporated is a not for profit, South Australian aged care community service associated with the Uniting Church. Resthaven’s residential and in-home care and support options are offered throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Limestone Coast.
