Catholic Healthcare has announced that its development application to renew an existing aged care home in Lewisham has been approved.
Catholic Healthcare’s General Manager of Property, Michael Lockwood said, “This is an exciting time for us and will enable the development of modern, integrated person-centred aged care services for the local residents of Lewisham and its neighbouring areas.”
The development will include a new seniors’ living village with 117 retirement living units and 144 resident places with a range of shared facilities that will be enjoyed by residents, their families and the broader community. This will include a Chapel, café, health and wellness hub, an indoor pool and gym, hair salon, cinema, games rooms and other activity and lifestyle spaces.
“Catholic Healthcare is committed and focused on creating much needed additional services in Lewisham for a growing ageing population. We are passionate about delivering the highest quality care and enriching the lives of our senior community in the Inner West of Sydney.
“As an organisation we continue to grow and expand our services for seniors and the community in New South Wales as the demand for aged care and retirement living increases,” added Lockwood.
Construction is scheduled to commence in 2022. Pictured is an artist's impression of the development.
