SummitCare Continuously Improving Services

on Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Committed to continuously improving services to their residents, SummitCare regularly collaborates with Universities and specialists in the industry to trial new programs, care services projects, activities and suppliers to introduce and implement new opportunities and strategies to SummitCare.

SummitCare was recently recognised in the Future of Ageing Awards 2020, receiving high commendations for our dedication and focus in palliative care. SummitCare's Baulkham Hills home also won the Local Business Awards 2020 for Outstanding Specialised Business in the Hills District, Sydney. These achievements have been a great acknowledgement from the local communities and leading aged care bodies of the work and investments made by Summitcare which has enriched the lives of residents.

Wellbeing activity programs such as ‘See Me. Know Me.’, ‘The Little Things’, and ‘Moove and Groove’ are focused on developing social connections with the residents and staff to help build relationships and continued trust with families and residents.

SummitCare Chief Operating Officer Michelle Sloane explains “Our programs and activities are designed to improve connectedness, good physical and mental health, and general wellbeing.”

SummitCare residents participate in selecting new seasonal menus as part of the food program, to ensure a variety of diverse options are available to the residents who taste test menu options and fill out a survey. Dietitians are involved with menu selections and work with SummitCare's Executive Chef.

“We take into account, not just the quality of the meals for our residents, but the timing of the meals and their duration. Everyone is different and we cater to these needs according to their preferences. Suppliers also get reviewed every 6 months based on residents’ feedback, once input has been given, in order to make the required changes for each home’s seasonal menu.” Says SummitCare Executive Chef, Amit Nagpal.

With over 50 years of experience as a trusted provider in the industry, SummitCare provides the highest quality of care and continually provides ongoing education and development for staff.

Continuous improvement and the evolution of how SummitCare approach resident centered care is evident and well received by residents, family and staff.

Below are samples of the testimonials received from families of residents in SummitCare residential aged care homes.

“I cried with relief and gratitude when you made things happen to help my mum, therefore also supporting me. Mum is now residing with you permanently, and we couldn’t be happier with that decision… She truly feels safe and secure, and is happy.” – Deena

“SummitCare lives up to their motto, which is Warmth, Worth and Wellbeing. That is what I see every day. That is exactly what my parents are experiencing. I think they do a fantastic job with the care of the people here, and I wouldn’t have them here if I thought it was any other way.” – Sue

“The entire team at SummitCare have been very accommodating, helpful, informative and understanding. Communication is always open and very regular. I’m extremely grateful for their care and help with my dad.” – Bettina

“I can’t speak highly enough of you all. Your constant pursuit of excellence is a credit to you and certainly impacts on the residents.” – Maureen
