New Initiative Brings Victorian Seniors Festival Direct to Aged Care Homes

The Victorian Seniors Festival is bringing the fun of the Festival directly into aged care homes across the State through the launch of its new Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour initiative.

In a Festival first, the Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour will see leading Victorian performers deliver magic, music, glamour and entertainment to Victorian seniors who might not have been able to experience the fun of the Festival in its traditional format.

From 7 December 2021 to March 2022, the Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour will visit homes in a range of locations including Thornbury, Warburton, Mornington, Heathcote and Ballarat.

Due to restrictions following COVID-19, the annual Festival entering this new territory of bringing performances to aged care to ensure the show and celebrations continue across the State.

The Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour will provide opportunities for seniors to not only participate in new and diverse activities, which can enhance their health and wellbeing, but also enjoy the reintroduction of entertainers following the cancellation of visitors and volunteers during lockdown.

The 2021 Victorian Seniors Festival theme year of Keep’n On highlights that despite a global pandemic, the thriving lives of our Victorian seniors will continue.

The Victorian Seniors Festival is an important annual event which supports the Victorian Government’s aim for Victorian seniors to age well and to encourage good health, wellbeing and community participation for our State’s seniors.
