TLC Healthcare (TLC) will be amongst the first providers to vaccinate children on their return to school in 2022. Firbank Grammar School and Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne’s southern suburbs will be running in-school vaccination clinics from January 14, prior to their students returning to school. The Government-funded roll-out of the vaccine at in-school clinics will substantially boost vaccination coverage in Australia.
At the in-school clinics, children aged five and over will be eligible to have their first vaccinations and older students can also receive the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The clinics will also be open to teachers and family members of the students wishing to receive their COVID-19 vaccination or booster dose.
To date, TLC has successfully administered over 80,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to the community through their 10 TLC Primary Care medical centres as well as people living in their 11 residential aged care homes. They have also successfully provided COVID-19 vaccinations to over 130 residential aged care homes of other providers.
TLC Healthcare’s CEO, Lou Pascuzzi, is honoured to be entrusted with delivering the COVID-19 vaccine young Australians. “In term 3 of 2021, TLC ran a successful rapid antigen testing program at Firbank Grammar School designed to keep students safe and avoid disruption to their in-class learning.
“The rapid antigen testing program was so successful that Firbank Grammar School has invited us back to administer their in-school COVID-19 vaccination program. Brighton Grammar School will also be offering their students and families vaccination at the in-school clinics.
“ TLC’s COVID-19 immunisation team are amongst the most experienced practitioners in the country, and their efficient system for administering large-scale vaccination clinics will ensure that we can get as many students and their families immunised as possible” says Pascuzzi.
The in-school vaccination clinics will run from January 14 to 28 at the Brighton campus of Firbank Grammar School exclusively for the Firbank Grammar School and Brighton Grammar School communities.
TLC operates 11 residential aged care homes, 10 medical centres, and a registered training organisation located across Melbourne and Geelong.
